Graduation in any stream (that is, Arts, Science or Commerce) have graduated with at least 55% aggregate marks at the UG level (5% relaxation in case of SC/ST category)/GOI Guidelines

Qualifying PTET Exam This exam is a state-level entrance exam. It is conducted annually for candidates who wish to seek admission in the B.Ed. course. The candidates with at least 50% Marks either in Bachelor Degree and /or in Master Degree in Science/Social Sciences/Humanities, Bachelor in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the programme.

Duration

The B.Ed. programme is a two academic years programme, which can be completed in a maximum of three years from the date of the admission to the programme.

Education is an interdisciplinary branch of social science encompassing sociology, psychology, linguistics, political science, history and others all applied to the topic of secondary and post-secondary education. The courses offered by School of Education aimed at helping the students to explore the most challenging and exciting questions in education research, policy and practice and enable them to shape the future world with the transformative power of education. It would prepare experienced teacher educators for performing various roles in schools, nonprofit organizations, government agencies and beyond. Two years Bachelors of Education programme aims to prepare teachers as per NCTE guidelines through comprehensive curriculum, intensive training and field engagement with special focus on developing the ability to qualify CTET/STET, RPSC and KVS. 

The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme aims at developing the understanding and competencies required by practising teachers for the effective teaching-learning process at the school level. This programme prepares prospective teachers to understand the psychological and sociological aspects of the child’s development and also understand his behaviour under different conditions. Also to learn the various methodologies and technologies of teaching-learning processes. The course structure combined with theoretical and rigorous practice-teaching which prepares teacher trainees to become the master the art of teaching and the ability to deal with students based on their individual differences in various classroom situations.

  • To develop the skills of student teachers to plan learning experiences in and outside the classroom that are based on learners’ existing proficiency, interests, experiences and knowledge, and enable them to understand how students come to view, develop, learn and make sense of subject matter contained in the curriculum.
  • To develop the capacity among student teachers to use knowledge of effective verbal, non-verbal and media communication techniques to foster active enquiry, collaboration and supportive interaction in the classroom.
  • To enable the student teachers to understand the emotional and physical development of the learners.
  • To provide student teachers self-identity as a ‘teacher’ through school-based learning experiences and reflective practises that continually evaluate the effects of their choices and actions.
  • To change the behaviour, attitude and values of teacher trainees so that they shape into responsible and accountable agents of change in the society, in the perspective of local, national and global concerns and issues vital for human survival, progress and development.

The Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur is a renowned University, established by an Act of State Legislature in the State of Rajasthan by the Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur Act, 2008 (Act No. 16 of 2008). The University is ranked by NIRF-2024 in the Rank-Band of 101-150 with the School of Pharmacy at 49th rank, and also university appeared in the overall rank band for the first time in the rank band 151-200.
