The Biotechnology Business Incubator and School of Applied Sciences at Suresh Gyan Vihar University (SGVU), Jaipur,
successfully hosted the DSIR, Government of India, and DST Rajasthan Sponsored International Conference, BIOTECH NEXUS
2024, on Recent Advances in Biotechnology and Biomedical Sciences.Flashback to the dynamic inauguration of 'India's Innovating 2024' at our university's engineering department! This
event marked a significant milestone in our journey to foster creativity, collaboration, and cutting-edge innovation.
The inauguration ceremony was a vibrant and energetic affair, setting the stage for what promises to be an exciting year
of technological advancements and breakthrough ideas.
The conference, held from April 26-27, 2024, was inaugurated with a Pushpanjali to Goddess Saraswati, followed by the
release of the Abstract-Cum Souvenir by the Honorable Chief Guest, Dr. Ramanuj Narayan, Director, CSIR-IMMT, alongside
the Honorable President, Pro-President, and scientists from DSIR.
The conference's honorary address was delivered by Dr. Ranjeet Bairwa and Dr. Anoop Singh, Scientist-E from the
Department of Industrial and Scientific Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. They
highlighted the key functionalities of DSIR and its various schemes for supporting research and promoting
commercialization. The two-day international conference was a captivating journey through the realms of scientific
discovery. It featured plenary sessions with esteemed professors and scientists from across the country and the globe,
fostering an environment of learning and inspiration. The event saw a total of 250 participants from 24 states of India
and 7 different countries, reflecting its global reach and significance. There were 18 plenary lectures from
distinguished scientists representing prestigious institutions such as IISc, IIT-Roorkee, IIT-Guwahati, IIT-Kanpur,
NIPER, TIET-Patiala, BHU, A*Star Bioinformatics Institute-Singapore, Dalhousie University-Canada, and Albert-Einstein
University, USA. Notable interactions included sessions with Prof. Dr. Sanjai Saxena, Founder AgPharm Bioinnovations
LLP; Mr. Somnath from Specialized Products Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai; and Mr. Suchit Sogani, GC Life Science Pvt. Ltd. The event
featured 125 oral and poster presentations in both online and offline modes, providing a platform for young researchers
to showcase their work. The conference also recognized excellence through the Young Scientist Award, Best Oral
Presentation Award, and Best Poster Award. As the conference concluded, Prof. Dr. Gaurav Sharma, Convener, Dr. Neha
Kapoor, Co-convener, and Dr. Krishan Kumar, Organizing Secretary, congratulated all the winners and participants. They
encouraged attendees to carry forward the knowledge, connections, and excitement garnered from the event, fostering a
promising future for biotechnology and biomedical sciences. BIOTECH NEXUS 2024 exemplified SGVU's commitment to
advancing scientific research and innovation, bridging the gap between academia and industry, and inspiring the next
generation of scientists and researchers.
