CHRYSALIS 2024: A Transformative Orientation Programme for New Beginnings

CHRYSALIS 2024 was an inspiring six-day orientation program that welcomed over 800 new students. Held at the Acharya Purushottam Uttam Bhawan, it set a vibrant tone for the academic journey ahead.

The program aimed to provide a comprehensive introduction to university life. It created an inclusive environment where freshers explored academic orientations, cultural performances, and interactive workshops. With a focus on personality development and cognitive growth, the event offered opportunities for creative expression, technical learning, and community engagement. It set the stage for a transformative university experience by fostering self-confidence and a sense of belonging.

The six-day event, held from August 5th to August 10th, 2024, was designed to ensure a seamless transition into university life. Hosted at the prestigious Acharya Purushottam Uttam Bhawan and organized by the Dynamic Student Council, it brought together faculty, student leaders, and industry experts to guide the new batch. The atmosphere was welcoming, filled with engaging sessions that blended academic insights with co-curricular activities to prepare students for a well-rounded university experience.

The first day introduced students to their departments through faculty-led orientations, campus tours, and registration processes. The grand welcome ceremony featured inspiring speeches from university leaders and performances like Saraswati Malyarpan and Ganesh Vandana. A highlight was an international workshop by Dr. Namrata Rao from Liverpool Hope University, providing insights into balancing academic and personal life.

As the week progressed, interactive sessions covered the National Education Policy, continuous assessment procedures, and an introduction to the university’s learning management system. Cultural programs, quiz competitions, and a photography contest allowed students to showcase their creativity. Workshops on mindfulness, cognitive sharpening, and personal well-being encouraged self-growth. The talent hunt day gave students a platform to express their artistic and public speaking skills.

The final day focused on fostering friendships through engaging activities like Zumba, aerobics, and storytelling sessions. The closing ceremony honored student achievements, and university leaders shared motivating words about discipline, opportunities, and aspirations. The event successfully laid the foundation for a confident and enthusiastic student community.

The Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur is a renowned University, established by an Act of State Legislature in the State of Rajasthan by the Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur Act, 2008 (Act No. 16 of 2008). The University is ranked by NIRF-2024 in the Rank-Band of 101-150 with the School of Pharmacy at 49th rank, and also university appeared in the overall rank band for the first time in the rank band 151-200. It is due to the consistent effort of ensuring quality and ethics in our delivery that the SGVU has been granted an "A+" grade accreditation by NAAC, achieving a score of 3.32 out of 4. Furthermore, the university's agriculture program and college have received accreditation from ICAR for five years. Based in Jaipur, it is also one of the only few research-driven Universities in Rajasthan with DSIR-SIRO recognition. Other major program approvals includes PCI, UGC-DEB, RCI, BCI, NCTE and AICTE.
