Our Outstanding Journey Towards Achieving NIRF Rank-Band
Under the NIRF Celebration Week 2021, an enlightening, interactive, & refreshing Talk on, "Importance of NIRF in Higher Education" was held on 14th Sept. at Kalindi Auditorium, SGVU.
Suresh Gyan Vihar University has achieved all the 3N - NBA in 2008, NAAC ‘A’ in 2017, and NIRF in 2021. There was a need to understand the difference between the three and how NIRF is different from the preceding two.
The guest speakers for the event were Hon’ble SGVU Director Mr. Kanishk Sharma, Hon’ble Chief Mentor SGVU, Dr. Sudhanshu, and Hon’ble Chairperson SGVU, Sh. Sunil Sharma. The talk show began with Kanishk Sir's talk on the framework of the NIRF ranking and threw light on the five core parameters which being Teaching, Learning & Resources, Research and Professional Practice, Graduation Outcomes, Outreach & Inclusivity, and Peer Perception.
Suresh Gyan Vihar University didn’t get its’ spirit dampen even during Covid-19 induced lockdown and got more than 1500 lectures uploaded on YouTube. SGVU is a research focussed university and our faculty is highly valued with its high-impact research journal publications and patents. We left many government and private institutions behind and this is again proof of our excellence and our collective stride.
Hon’ble Chief Mentor SGVU, Dr. Sudhanshu kept his address natural and humane speaking of the fact that as we have survived two major Covid-19 waves, it must be for a good reason that we are here and so many even couldn’t make it.
He answered the knotty question of the audience, How and Why NIRF is different and important? Enlightening the students, he spoke how during NAAC accreditation, we had rated our self on various set key parameters and how the NAAC team visited the campus to verify our faculty’s dedication towards student outcomes, our infrastructure, our pedagogy, laboratories, and student facilities/online and offline support services.
As it comes to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), we are getting weighed up with other government and private universities and colleges in India. Being one of the latest college/university ranking methodologies of current times, NIRF ranking is a beautiful leap forward and this will allow SGVUians, faculty, and all stakeholders to truly believe in our achievements, capabilities, and possibilities.
Chief Mentor Sir congratulated the many departments for the tremendous work they are doing and especially congratulated Mr. Sohit Agarwal, Head – School of Computer Engineering & Information Technology, SGVU for his contributions towards helping us achieve the present NIRF laurel and Dr. Gaurav Gupta, Associate Professor School of Pharmacy, SGVU for his tremendous Research journal publications and patents.
Hon’ble Chairperson SGVU Sh. Sunil Sharma shared insightful thoughts on becoming the NIRF-ranked University. He got everyone in the audience to take individual responsibility to further their actions towards reaching better and bigger accreditations and achievements.
