Eligibility

Applications for the Ph.D. Programme are invited in advance and will be made on the basis of entrance test and interview. The admission will be subject to initial being available in the pertinent specializations. The candidates who qualify (JRF/ SRF) UGC (NET/ JRF)/ CSIR (NET/ JRF)/ examination/ SLET / GATE or GPAT score card, Teacher research fellows will be exempted from entrance test. The final selection will be based on the performance in Entrance Test (70% weightage) and Interview (30% weightage) subject to scoring requirement number of marks in the Interview.

Admission procedure

Ph.D. Candidacy and Monitoring Process

A student will be given the Ph.D. Candidacy on completion of the following requirements:Passing the Course Work for required amount of time as per the norms.Presenting a seminar that delineates the current state of knowledge about the specific problem onwhich the student wants to pursue research, the proposed methodology and the goals intended to beachieved along with future perspectives of the proposed research.After the candidate is granted the Ph.D. research work in the form of Synopsis, he/ she will appearbefore the Department Doctoral Board once in six months to make a presentation of the progress of his/her work for evaluation and further guidance.

Medium of Instruction

Unless otherwise specified by the University, the medium of instruction, course work, examination,question paper, synopsis and thesis will be English in all cases.

Submission of Thesis

The Ph.D. candidate will be allowed to submit the thesis, if and only if, he/ she has published at leasttwo research paper in refereed journal and made two paper presentations in conferences/ seminarsbefore the submission of the thesis for adjudication, and produce evidence for the same in the form ofpresentation certificates and/ or reprints. The candidate will make a presentation of the work done byhim/ her, which will be open to all faculty members and research students before the thesis is boundand submitted for evaluation. Research Departmental Committee will be responsible for scheduling theopen presentation for all research scholars.

Thesis Evaluation

The Ph.D. thesis submitted by a research scholar will be evaluated by his/ her Research Supervisor andthree external examiners will be appointed by honorable President who are not working in theInstitution/ College, out of which one shall be from outside the Rajasthan

Defense of Thesis towards of Award of Ph.D. Degree

The open viva-voce of the research scholar to defend the thesis will be organized only if the evaluationreport(s) of the external examiner(s) on the thesis are recommended for conducting the viva-voceexamination. The candidate will finally present the research work duly approved by the concerneddepartmental research committee per the schedule. The Board will examine the candidate through aviva-voce based on the reports based on concern committee. The viva-voce examination openlydefended where all the faculty members and research students will be present. A prior notificationbefore a week will be informed to faculty members and research scholars. Based on the performance ofthe viva of scholar the research committee including experts who are invited will send itsrecommendations for the award of Ph.D. degree for approval by the Vice Chancellor
